On September 9, 2020, the KROST Community was joined by fitness enthusiast, Master SoulCycle Instructor and confidence coach Jenny Gaither. Along with 15 years of experience in serving fitness communities, Jenny is the founder of two organizations that focus on helping others build self confidence through body positivity and coaching!

Her first Nonprofit Organization goes by the name of Movemeant Foundation; an internationally recognized 501c3 dedicated to helping girls and women build self-worth and confidence through movement. Through Movemeant Foundation, Jenny has dedicated over 10 years of her life to serving fitness communities throughout the country by providing middle school girls with a body-positive, movement-based curriculum and by hosting over 15 outdoor, charity fitness festivals called ‘We Dare to Bare,’ in major cities such as, San Francisco, New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Jenny’s dedication to the Movemeant Foundation has led her to form a partnership with athleticwear company, Athleta, and gift underserved communities around the world with individual athletic scholarships to make fitness accessible, approachable, and fun.

If that wasn’t enough, Jenny is also the creator of a community that goes by the name Brave Babe. Through this, she has built a curriculum for women to gain easy access to accountability, actionable steps, and guidance in order to face their fears and build self-worth to achieve a confident sense-of-self, both personally and professionally.

During our most recent Community Zoom Session in partnership with Allbirds, Jenny was able to share some insight on what it means to have self-confidence and even provide some general tips that may help going forward:

There are typically several thoughts that can hold you back from achieving the goals you want to accomplish. Think about what a day without these thoughts would look like. How would you benefit from having a fearless mind when it comes to pursuing your dreams?

It’s not about how many people like you, support you or believe in you. Confidence is about how much you believe in yourself. Be comfortable in your own skin and take advantage of what makes you unique.

As humans, we create false obstacles that prevent us from getting to the next level in whatever it may be. Some of these include:

  • Perfectionism: the act of trying to make something perfectly perfect in your eyes which can lead to delayed results or even failure.
  • Imposter Syndrome: the act of trying to be someone you’re not. Don’t put yourself in someone else’s shoes because what worked for them may not work for you.
  • Comparison: the act of trying to understand why someone’s success is different from yours. Success isn’t viewed the same by everyone nor does it take a set amount of time. Everyone is different and the sooner you can understand that, the easier it is to work at your own pace.

During our Session, several members opened up about things that were particularly bothering them at that point in time. Whether it be a song you’re working on or a job you’re trying to land, it’s important to realize that you are the only person that can control your life. Jenny was more than willing to put on her confidence coach cap and offer advice to those who requested which left an overwhelming sense of eagerness to take the next step of becoming more confident in our personal lives.
